iCAD has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to incorporate its ProFound Breast Health Suite into Microsoft’s Precision Imaging Network (PIN), expanding access to automated mammography reporting through the PowerScribe platform.
The Nashua, New Hampshire-based company said its ProFound AI suite will be hosted across Microsoft’s cloud network, allowing radiology providers to access AI-generated insights directly within their existing clinical workflows. The integration aims to streamline breast cancer screening processes by standardizing reporting language and automating routine tasks.
PowerScribe, Microsoft’s radiology reporting solution, is already used by a majority of U.S. radiologists. By embedding iCAD’s technology into PIN, the companies hope to make mammography reporting more efficient and provide more personalized, patient-specific insights.

“We are excited to partner with Microsoft to expand access to our AI solutions for breast cancer detection across a broader network of healthcare providers,” said Dana Brown, CEO and president of iCAD. “This collaboration supports our growth strategy by expanding the reach of our industry-leading technology, driving deeper market penetration, and advancing our transition to an SaaS model."
This agreement follows the recent FDA clearance of iCAD’s ProFound Detection Version 4.0 for digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). According to the company, the updated system offers a 22% improvement in detecting aggressive cancer types and an 18% reduction in false positives compared to previous versions, along with improved performance in patients with dense breast tissue.
