Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas Inc. unveiled a suite of digital radiography (DR) solutions at the RSNA in Chicago and highlighted ongoing research into the clinical applications of dynamic digital radiography (DDR) through four scientific papers.

Among the innovations introduced is Bone Suppression Imaging (BSI) for chest X-rays. Recently cleared by the FDA, BSI enhances lung visualization by suppressing the ribs and clavicle. The feature aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and will be available with Konica Minolta DR systems and the Exa PACS platform.

Also on display is the AeroDR PDR panel, a new addition to the AeroDR family, which is meant to combine advanced imaging technology with cost-effective design. The 14 x 17-inch wireless detector is geared toward facilities looking to retrofit their systems, offering an accessible option for modernization without extensive infrastructure changes.

“Konica Minolta builds on the quality, durability, and reliability of the AeroDR family of detectors and image processing software with these new solutions that provide clinical and economic value to our customers,” said Lisette Carrara, senior marketing manager for radiology at Konica Minolta.

The company also launched AeroRemote Insights 4.0, an analytics platform designed to help healthcare providers and administrators manage imaging resources more effectively. New features include a faster, AI-powered chatbot for streamlined data access, customizable user profiles, and enhanced global data filtration tools. A separate Dealer Dashboard offers tools for service providers to oversee system status and optimize revenue opportunities while adhering to HIPAA standards.

Konica Minolta emphasized DDR’s growing clinical relevance with studies presented during the RSNA Scientific Program. Topics ranged from bedside DDR applications for lung and respiratory assessments to its use in evaluating cervical pain and spinal flexibility in pediatric scoliosis.

“Dynamic digital radiography offers unique functional imaging insights, bridging the gap between static imaging and real-time diagnostics,” said Robert Kenley, vice president of commercial services.
