The BISx, according to the company, is designed to integrate with a wide range of patient monitoring platforms sold by leading monitoring manufacturers.
The BIS monitoring converts the electroencephalogram (EEG) information into a number that represents each patient's level of consciousness by using a sensor placed on the patient's forehead. The BIS value may then be used by clinicians to make informed decisions for optimal anesthesia or sedation.
"BIS is the only consciousness monitoring technology that offers widespread availability and compatibility." Nassib Chamoun, president and CEO of Aspect.
