modest beginnings




When Joseph Samaha had a vision to start a company that would be able to offer affordable solutions to doctors and hospitals that could not otherwise afford the latest technologies, he cleared out his garage and went to work.

From that small start to over 20 employees with offices in Tucson, Arizona and Hermosillo, Mexico, today Medfix Solutions Inc. specializes in the sale and service of new and refurbished orthopedic, spine and endoscopy equipment, providing solutions backed by a strong knowledgeable sales team and supportive warranty policies.

"We have a strong presence both internationally and in the U.S. with the ability to serve our customers in over five native languages," says Alberto Voli, Vice President of the company. "We specialize in a very niche market where we can provide our customers with true viable solutions that meet their needs both in the short and long term. Our customer ratings are exceptional because our customers appreciate the attention they receive and fast turnaround to their requests."

The early days of the company had a web presence of 200 products but it has grown to more than 5,000 items and the company was named to the DOTmed 100 for 2009.

"We have also expanded our product line to not only include refurbished equipment, but also added new and innovative solutions at a fraction of the cost from competing lines," Voli says. "We have grown an average of 50 percent year after year for the past five years."

Of course, like most companies, there was a slight impact with the economic downturn, but Voli says that the company remained strong.

"We have not only survived but thrived by being even more competitive and aggressive in both our market strategy and market penetration," he says. "Instead of reducing our staff we have on the contrary hired five new team members in the last two months, strengthening our ability to deliver on our vision of meeting and exceeding customers' expectations."

In addition to their relationship with DOTmed.com, the company maintains success and visibility by actively participating in five conventions a year both nationally and internationally, including the imminent FIME 09, along with AAOS, AMOT and SMO in Mexico and the AANS Neuro Spine conventions.
