Further advancing digital X-ray capabilities for improved cost-efficiency and overall patient benefits, TAMS introduces an integrated Digital Radiography (DR) panel for its Kalare R&F X-ray system. Delivering high-resolution images and post processing capabilities, the 14x17 inch DR panel can now be used in the table buckey or the vertical wall stand--delivering true all-digital performance. The panel also can be removed to accommodate routine tabletop exams.

"Providing an integrated DR panel on the Kalare allows imaging facilities to go completely filmless, which eliminates the time, cost and storage issues associated with utilizing traditional film," said Don Volz, director, X-ray Business Unit, TAMS. "That time savings and instant access to images offered with digital radiography can be significant for many facilities, allowing them to accommodate more patients without the cost or space requirements of adding a second room."

Kalare users will realize further benefits for their facility and their customers with the post processing capabilities allowed with digital imaging, dramatically reducing retakes and improving patient procedure times. Adding the DR panel to the Kalare will provide around-the-clock utilization. The Kalare system has been designed to accommodate the DR integration as a simple field upgrade.

The Feature-Rich Kalare System
Kalare expands general R&F and interventional radiology capabilities to help clinicians perform more exams with ease, comfort and speed. Its feature-rich, comprehensive configuration positively impacts productivity, resource allocation, asset utilization and clinical outcomes.

Features include the latest EPS-Plus Digital Imaging System--an all-digital processing system designed to shorten exam times and reduce the costs of film, handling and storage associated with conventional R&F fluoroscopic procedures. The system also increases access to fluoroscopic and radiographic images, and speeds critical information to the point-of-care.

Simplifying user operation, the Kalare features state-of-the-art tableside controls for more patient-focused exams, and a universal table configuration with proven reliability. Its true, one-hand operation and power-assisted control of the image intensifier and exposure functions allow for effortless manipulation of the table position, field size control of the image intensifier and X-ray collimation setting, as well as easy image processing and playback.
