About 500 people attended the symposium including vendors and biomeds. The NCBA offered free registration to 71 first-time attendees. Registration included access to the exhibit hall, classes and meals. Attendees that stayed at the Embassy Suites for one night also received a 2010 NCBA membership at no charge.
Over 100 vendors exhibited at the symposium, including Conquest Imaging, First Call Parts, GE, GMI, Medrad, Philips, US Medical Services and Unisyn Medical Technologies, Inc. (formerly Sonora Medical).
Classes were held throughout the symposium in the categories of general biomed, information technology, management, and imaging, and covered a variety of topics including slashing medical equipment budgets, in-house endoscopy repair and negotiating skills.
This year's symposium was held 75 miles from Pinehurst, NC, the show's home for the previous nine years. The symposium was moved because of space constraints, and the Embassy Suites in Concord allowed for "more space to grow" according to NCBA president Alan Koreneff.
NCBA board members, DOTmed advertisers and biomeds stopped by DOTmed's booth to be interviewed for DOTmed News HD. Watch DOTmed News for further coverage.
