Kodak's CARESTREAM Information Management Solutions (installed at more than 130 locations worldwide) include: KODAK CARESTREAM Enterprise Information Management (EIM), KODAK CARESTREAM Hosted Information Management (HIM) and KODAK CARESTREAM Regional Information Management (RIM).
Watauga Medical Center (Boone, N.C.) recently purchased a CARESTREAM Enterprise Information Management Solution as part of a multi-phase plan to update the hospital's clinical information systems and IT infrastructure. The new centralized IT infrastructure is designed to support continued growth in data as well as future applications including CPOE (computerized physician order entry), decision support and others.

"I was the first to say: `What does Kodak know about supporting non-radiology applications?'" said Greg Kieliszek, Watauga's Vice President and CIO. "But as we evaluated storage suppliers, I found that Kodak understands the broad needs of enterprise-wide information management for clinical and non-clinical applications. Kodak also demonstrated that its software offers clinical information life cycle management (CILM), which many other storage systems do not offer."
Kodak's CARESTREAM architecture can be scaled to meet the needs of small-to-large hospitals and medical practices as well as regional or national healthcare information systems--all within the same software framework. Since the same software architecture is featured in KODAK CARESTREAM PACS, a healthcare facility that purchases Kodak's PACS can implement enterprise-wide management of other applications and storage systems with a software upgrade.
CARESTREAM RIM can extend clinical information life cycle management to an entire geographic region. As part of a multi-million-dollar agreement with National Services Scotland (NSS), a CARESTREAM RIM will provide country-wide access to PACS data collected at 39 hospitals and 67 satellite imaging centers. Every hospital across the country will have the ability to readily access prior images and reports, regardless of where they were generated, to help radiologists deliver faster, more accurate diagnoses.
CARESTREAM HIM offers business continuity and disaster recovery by hosting an organization's data remotely at a secure Kodak data center. The recent hurricanes and resulting devastation have highlighted the need for secure data storage at remote locations.
KODAK CARESTREAM Information Management Solutions are composed of software, industry-standard hardware and professional services that can include network analysis and upgrades, data migration, secure email service and other options.
