CHICAGO, June 16, 2011 - In hybrid operating rooms (OR), healthcare facilities require a flexible imaging system to create a collaborative environment between clinicians and to allow both surgical and interventional procedures to be performed in one setting. At this year's Society of Vascular Surgery (SVS) annual meeting, held in Chicago, June 16-18, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. will highlight single plane, ceiling mounted InfinixTM-i X-ray systems and their compatibility with the Toshiba CAT-880B hybrid table and the MAQUET MAGNUS OR table.
The design of ceiling mounted Infinix-i vascular X-ray systems ensures head-to-toe and fingertip-to-fingertip coverage for surgical and interventional procedures. The system features a triple-axis C-arm and 270 degree gantry pivot that allows for unparalleled patient access, a critical element for imaging systems used during hybrid procedures. The system's remote park capability enables clinicians to perform procedures in the OR that do not require imaging. Infinix-i systems offer various configurations plus compatibility with hybrid cath and OR tables, allowing healthcare facilities to create the ideal hybrid OR.
Toshiba's CAT-880B hybrid catheterization table is designed to assist clinicians during imaging or surgery to allow for greater positioning flexibility. The table functionality with side-to-side cradle and head-to-toe tilt permits clinicians to angle the table in the best position to quickly complete procedures. The table features a 550-pound table weight limit, making it well suited for a range of patients, and a minimum table height of 75 cm, providing ultimate patient access and physician comfort, regardless of the procedure being performed. The flexibility and ergonomic design enhance the clinician's ability to work around the patient and accommodate views that conventional angiographic tables cannot. Toshiba also offers a customized surgical adaptor board for the CAT-880B hybrid catheterization table, allowing physicians to adapt surgical instruments to the catheterization table. For example, this adaptor allows for quick conversion from endovascular to open surgical repair or facilitates a combination of open/endovascular approaches concurrently.

Additionally, the Infinix CC-i and VC-i systems are now available to be combined with the MAQUET MAGNUS table for enhanced use during hybrid OR procedures. As a result of this compatibility, rotational, low-contrast and 3D angiography imaging can now be performed in MAQUET MAGNUS-equipped rooms.
