VECTor+: Dramatic improvements of MILabs' proprietary SPECT/PET technology

Utrecht, The Netherlands - MILabs, B.V., the Netherlands-based innovator and manufacturer of pre-clinical SPECT/PET/CT imaging devices used in biomedical research today announces important new advances in its proprietary VECTor SPECT/PET technology thereby expanding the limits of molecular imaging.

Since its introduction to the market in 2010, VECTor has served as a unique multi-modality imaging solution not only for SPECT and PET imaging, but also for simultaneous SPECT and PET image acquisition. VECTor is the 1st and only multi-modality imaging system in the market to perform 0.75 mm PET and simultaneous sub-mm SPECT and PET image acquisition. Furthermore, VECTor demonstrates the highest spatial resolution in the field, in PET and SPECT, continuing MILabs' legacy of providing highest performance molecular imaging systems in the market. When acquired separately in a dedicated mode, VECTor demonstrates <250 micron spatial resolution in SPECT, and <750 microns in PET, which is absolutely the highest proven spatial resolution in the field. In simultaneous PET SPECT mode, it maintains its ultra-high PET resolution while SPECT can still be performed at sub-half-mm level. The key upgrades in VECTor+ are the availability of several new exchangeable collimators and the option to choose thicker crystals for more counts (the XT versions).These will provide the user with optimal sensitivity and resolution for each imaging task. Additional image quality improvements have been accomplished with new reconstruction methods. CT can also be added to VECTor+ to have VECTor+/CT for an integrated SPECT, PET and CT solution.
