TUSTIN, Calif., July 15, 2015 – To differentiate itself from other providers in the region, Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, Ga., installed a completely new suite of advanced imaging systems from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. Meadows Regional acquired two AquilionTM ONE CT systems, one Vantage TitanTM 1.5T MR system and one KalareTM X-ray system.
“Healthcare reform has put greater pressure on hospitals to be more efficient, provide better care and do it all at lower cost,” said John Harrell, director of radiology, Meadows Regional Medical Center. “It might seem counterintuitive, but we knew that strategic investments in state-of-the-art imaging technology would help us improve patient care, lower costs in the long run and would set us apart among our competition.”
Across every modality, Toshiba’s imaging systems are providing unique technologies that help Meadows Regional drive more patient referrals and attract the best physicians in the area:

Dynamic Volume CT Imaging: The Aquilion ONE provides an industry-leading CT solution with 640-slice coverage that can capture entire organs in a single rotation.
SEMAR: Toshiba’s Single Energy Metal Artifact Reduction (SEMAR) improves orthopedic CT imaging by reducing streak artifacts from metal implants.
Dose Reduction: Patient safety is not a choice and the Aquilion ONE features AIDR 3D, an advanced iterative dose reduction technology that lowers radiation exposure while maintaining the image quality needed for diagnosis.
Non-Contrast MR Imaging: Eliminates the need for contrast during certain MRA exams, allowing patients with renal insufficiencies to get the imaging they need.
M-PowerTM User Interface: In MR imaging, the Titan 1.5T’s M-Power user interface makes exams easier to perform and simplifies post-processing.
“Lower reimbursements, a changing patient population and a slowly recovering economy are challenges for vital regional medical centers, like Meadows Regional,” said Satrajit Misra, vice president, Marketing, Toshiba. “Toshiba understands today’s business challenges and partners with customers to identify the right technology to help them differentiate and succeed in their market.”
