New consensus protocol announced for MRI in brain tumour clinical trials

The next phase of this effort is to achieve field-wide clinical trial adoption and use of the protocol, and the JBTDDC is actively requesting from major US and European neuro-oncology clinical trial co-operative groups, as well as biopharmaceutical sponsors, the incorporation of the protocol as the standard for use in their future brain tumor clinical trials.

In 2013, National Brain Tumor Society launched a Brain Tumor Clinical Trial Endpoints initiative focused on improving clinical trial endpoints and clarifying the clinical development paths and regulatory requirements for brain tumor drug approval. The JBTDDC was established as a first step to gaining community support for this effort, and consists of leading nonprofit organizations in the brain tumor field, including Society for Neuro-Oncology, Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research and Information, Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, and the National Brain Tumor Society.

The Jumpstarting Brain Tumor Drug Development Coalition is made up of four of the leading brain tumor-focused organizations in the United States, encompassing venture philanthropy; patient advocacy; public policy advocacy; research funding and advancement; education; and representing thousands of patients, caregivers, survivors, clinicians, and researchers.
