WASHINGTON Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) showcased its innovative cardiac solutions designed to streamline workflow and facilitate advanced information management at Cardiovascular Research Foundations (CRF) eighteenth annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) scientific symposium in Washington, D.C. Shown for the first time ever in the U.S., the pre-release of the Philips Xcelera 2.1 Cardiovascular Information Solution is one of thekey components to Philips integrated catheterization (cath) lab, which includes physiomonitoring, reporting and cardiovascular X-ray technologies to improve patient care and lab management.
Philips will also highlight its newest interventional tool, the computed tomography (CT) TrueView software, through live demonstrations. Using 3D CT images in the cath lab, Philips CT TrueView can improve and streamline treatment planning for patients undergoing invasive procedures for stent placement and chronic total occlusions (CTO).
As cardiovascular disease steadily rises nationwidethe condition affects an estimated 71 million AmericansPhilips is continually looking at innovative ways to integrate new interventional techniques and procedures to better diagnose and treat patients. Leveraging technologies including magnetic resonance (MR), healthcare informatics, CT and cardiovascular X-ray, Philips has developed patient-focused solutions to help cardiologists act earlier, react faster and make more accurate treatment decisions.
