KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR
Mammography Feature
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastman Kodak Company announced that more than 30 healthcare facilities in Australia, China, Central America and South America have purchased its KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Mammography Feature.
Kodaks CR (computed radiography) mammography feature enables KODAK computed radiography systems to capture high-resolution mammography images with traditional x-ray equipment.
The feature also is available as an upgrade, since healthcare facilities that purchase these CR systems for general radiography can add Kodaks mammography feature at a later date.

We appreciate the ability to perform mammography and general radiography exams on the same system. This flexibility enables our staff to enhance workflow and productivity. It also simplifies care by allowing patients to have mammograms in a familiar area where they receive other types of radiographic exams, said Dr. Jos Michel Kalaf, Radiologist, Radiologia Clnica de Campinas, Brazil.
Kodak markets the CR mammography feature for its CR 850/950/975 systems in Australia, Europe, Latin America, Asia and other parts of the world. Kodak has applied to the FDA for approval to market this system in the U.S., and the company is conducting clinical trials in the U.S. and Canada.
Kodaks mammography feature samples at 50 microns per pixel -- or 20 pixels per millimeter -- when used in combination with KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Mammography Cassettes and new EHR-M screens. Kodaks advanced EHR-M screens achieve higher signal and lower noise for improved mammography image quality, while KODAK CR mammography cassettes enable image capture close to the chest wall.
Kodak is helping healthcare facilities around the world adopt digital mammography technology, said Dina Vazzana, General Manager, Mammography Solutions, Kodaks Health Group. In addition to supplying a cost-effective, flexible CR solution for mammography, we also offer consulting services to help facilities maximize the efficiency of their new digital workflow.
