7 January 2016 – Micropos has signed an agreement with the Turkish hospital Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul. The hospital will in early 2016 be the first Turkish clinic to start using RayPilot® real-time tracking system for extreme hypofractionated radiotherapy of prostate cancer patients.
This autumn, Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale visited Micropos' reference site, the Helsinki University Hospital in Finland, to learn how they use RayPilot to both streamline the prostate cancer treatment by hypofractionation and to reduce radiation to healthy surrounding tissue by the increased precision. Now Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale will start using the system with intention to increase productivity eightfold, by going from 40 to only 5 treatment sessions.
The agreement is enforced in cooperation with the Turkish distributor Oncotech and provides the opportunity for both Micropos and distributor to use the clinic as a reference for study trips and education of new customers.
