Kodak Carestream Solutions
This Virtual Access Desktop for Radiology Solutions is an entry-level workstation that helps facilitate the transition to a digital environment by equipping technologists, medical staff and clinical users with basic image review, advanced printing capabilities and short-term storage. Tools include edge enhancement to improve visualization of bone and lung structure, a scrolling feature needed to view long length CR images, and true-size printing. The desktop is quick to install, and easy to use and maintain. It provides a rapid return on investment due to its low entry cost, reduction in film/chemical expenses and gains in workflow.

In-Vivo Multispectral System
Eastman Kodak Company’s Molecular Imaging Systems group also announced the release of the KODAK In-Vivo Multispectral system for advanced research applications. The system is capable of identifying molecular abnormalities that are the origin of disease at a very early stage, which can lead to expedited development of effective therapeutics. In vivo molecular imaging allows non-invasive measurement of biological processes within a living organism. The new system incorporates workflow automation and advanced multispectral fluorescence, luminescence, digital x-ray and radioisotopic imaging capabilities for in vivo imaging of small animals for drug development and life science research.
The In-Vivo Multispectral system’s computer controlled multispectral tuning of excitation light provides greatly enhanced sensitivity allowing for the identification and separation of multiple fluorochromes and the removal of autofluorescence background.
Worldwide availability of the product is expected in spring of 2007.
DR 9500 System
Designed by the same team that developed the award-winning DIRECTVIEW 7500 System, Kodak’s new DR 9500 system breaks away from traditional designs that involve detectors mounted in a table and/or a wall stand. Instead, the DR 9500 system has a ceiling-mounted U-arm that contains both a tube and detector to deliver unprecedented mobility and operational flexibility. This system easily moves around the patient to facilitate patient positioning and to enhance technologist convenience and productivity. For example, it allows technologists to capture images of the left and right side of the body without moving the patient. It is offers enhanced speed and comfort to patients with limited mobility. The KODAK DR 9500 system is scheduled to be available worldwide in the second quarter of 2007.
DR 9500
In addition to showing computer-aided detection (CAD) software for its CR-based mammography platforms, Eastman Kodak Company also demonstrated CAD software for full-field digital mammography systems from Siemens as works-in-progress..
