RSNA '06: The Fuji Report

by Barbara Kram, Editor | December 13, 2006

At the core of this DR product line is Fuji's new solid state DR detector providing imaging performance with the highest spatial resolution and superb DQE. This detector is being introduced in Fuji's Velocity-Ufp and the Velocity-Tfp digital x-ray systems, which are both part of Fuji's SpeedSuite, a fully integrated digital room replacement. The Velocity-Ufp is a compact reader for chest and other upright exams. It provides exceptional throughput of up to 240 images per hour. It will be available for shipping the first quarter of 2007.
The Velocity-Tfp is Fuji's new table system that has been designed to meet the changes in the patient population and can accommodate increased patient weights up 506 pounds. The Velocity-Tfp also incorporates the new solid state detector for superb image quality, and features the same high productivity as the Velocity-Ufp. The Velocity-Tfp is not expected to be available for shipping until the second quarter of 2007.

Rounding out Fuji's new DR product line is the SpeedSuite Unity1, a flexible U-arm system that is ideal for performing a full range of imaging examinations both in the hospital setting as well as outside the hospital in imaging centers and clinics. Fully motorized, the system can be easily positioned and controlled to do most any exam from chest to extremities. The compact design allows the U-arm to be simply installed with a minimum of room preparation. The SpeedSuite Unity is expected to be available mid 2007.2

Fuji's comprehensive new DR product line works in tandem with Fuji's market leading CR (computed radiography) products, utilizing the same user interface that more than 15,000 RTs across the U.S are already familiar with. When facilities combine Fuji's high productivity DR systems, with CR systems in lower throughput areas, they can achieve the highest quality, most cost effective solution for all of their digital imaging needs.
