Mortsel, Belgium -- Agfa HealthCare has been awarded a new three-year, dual source contract by Premier Purchasing Partners L.P., the group purchasing division of Premier Inc., (“Premier”), to provide Computed Radiography (“CR”) products to the alliance's 1,700 member hospitals and more than 43,000 other healthcare delivery sites. The Premier contract is estimated at approximately $35 million per year, for a period of three years, and names Agfa HealthCare as one of two preferred suppliers of Computed Radiography solutions.

Agfa HealthCare's entire line of CR hardware, software and service maintenance agreements is covered in this contract. Agfa's CR line includes the CR 85-X™ high capacity multi-plate system; Agfa's two single plate systems, CR 35-X™ and the new CR 30-X™. Also included is Agfa HealthCare's breakthrough digital radiography solution, the DX-S™. The DX-S™ provides very fast cycle time, precision image quality and potential for dose reduction. All Agfa CR solutions are powered by Agfa's award winning MUSICA® image processing software.

Agfa HealthCare was awarded the CR contract following Premier's comprehensive product and contract evaluation process, which is based primarily on recommendations from Premier's Imaging Committee, composed of radiologists and related representatives of Premier members.


Effective on January 1, 2007, this new contract is the latest in Agfa's ongoing relationship with Premier and its members since 1995. In January 2004, Agfa was awarded its initial three-year contract for CR-solutions with Premier.
