Both firms have been in deal-making news lately. AmSurg had gone after TeamHealth Holdings with a $7.8 billion offer, which it withdrew in November after the latter's board “failed to engage in discussions,”
according to The Street.

In 2014, AmSurg bought Sheridan Healthcare for $2.3 billion.
“AmSurg has been very consistent and vocal about their view that they want to get bigger,” Jefferies analyst Brian Tanquilut
told Bloomberg. “They feel that there’s an advantage to having a pretty wide range of services that they offer.”
Envision, meanwhile, had been looking for another opportunity in the midst of its $120 million buy of Emergency Physicians Medical Group,
according to The Deal.
