The new area will feature more than just cosmetic changes - structural renovations will help improve the quality and speed of care and add about 500 square feet to the original space. The number of triage rooms will double from two to four. The new registration and discharge area features a more efficient, staff-friendly design to help give patients quicker access to urgent treatments. The project also included renovation of the outdoor canopied driveway, which will feature landscaping from Selby Gardens.
The $2.16 million triage renovation project has been made possible by the generosity of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc., which, to date, has committed nearly $7 million through its EMERGENCY CARE 24/7 We're Always Here capital campaign from the community.

"Having the community support this important campaign through philanthropy is the difference between a good hospital and an excellent hospital," said Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation President and CEO Alexandra Quarles, CFRE. "We are most grateful to our donors and advocates for believing in the foundation and the health care system."
