DR saves time and
improves volume of data
Stamford, Conn. -- Last week at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) Annual Meeting and Exhibition, Fujifilm Medical Systems USA, Inc. (Fujifilm) highlighted the innovation and market leading features of its Fujifilm DR (FDR) systems. Fujifilm is the only DR vendor to offer facilities the choice of two similar but unique DR detectors, both of which provide the highest resolution and fastest image availability of any available DR system.
Fujifilm delivers optimized, integrated DR workflow for the busiest of facilities, including ease of patient positioning. Superior DR image quality is provided with both Focused Phosphor and Powder Phosphor DR detectors. Available in the upright and table configurations, FDR detectors deliver efficient, high quality imaging. Both detectors offer the fastest, fully processed images available in the industry. First-up images are consistently ready starting in just 2 seconds, with full resolution images seen in only 7 - 9 seconds. Additionally, with 100 micron imaging, both detectors produce the highest resolution DR image, with up to four times the amount of information that other DR systems capture.
"A commitment to image quality, system productivity and reliability, and innovation is what propelled Fujifilm to be the leader in digital x-ray and what remains the driving force behind Fujifilm's DR systems," said John Strauss, Fujifilm's Director of Marketing, Imaging Systems. "Leading facilities across the US continue to select FDR, recognizing that no other vendor can rival Fujifilm's image quality and speed of image availability. It's our goal to mirror our success in the CR market with our DR products," Strauss said.

For facilities that may also be interested in exploring the potential for dose reduction, Fujifilm's Focused Phosphor detector offers the added advantage of the high detective quantum efficiency (DQE) of even the most efficient DR detectors available. Customers using the system have verified Fujifilm studies revealing that the Focused Phosphor detector can produce image quality comparable to the Powder Phosphor detector systems but with a remarkable 30 - 50% reduction in dose. This dose reduction becomes critical in adhering to the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) concept and also when patients' exposure to x-ray is a vital consideration.
Both Fujifilm's upright and table Focused Phosphor and Powder Phosphor detector systems can be purchased individually or as a Fujifilm SpeedSuite™, a fully integrated digital room replacement. All of these FDR systems are commercially available.
