The American Society of Radiologic Technologists will donate $10,000 to the American Red Cross Hurricane Florence Relief Fund to assist with disaster relief efforts in North Carolina and South Carolina. The donation is on behalf of the ASRT’s 154,000 members.
“Hurricane Florence has devastated a number of areas in the Carolinas and state and local officials expect to see more damage over the next several days,” said ASRT Chairman of the Board Amanda Garlock, M.S., R.T.(R)(MR). “It’s crucial that we provide support to those affected as millions are without power and entire communities will have to rebuild.”
ASRT has a close relationship with the American Red Cross as the Society believes the best way to support those in need is through donations to an established disaster relief organization. ASRT has made a number of financial donations to the American Red Cross in the last several years for hurricane, tornado and flooding disaster relief efforts.

“As an organization dedicated to providing safe and high-qualty patient care, we’re committed to helping those in need,” said Garlock. “In addition, there are a lot of ASRT members who live in the Carolinas, so it’s essential that we contribute to their safety and recovery.”
