Siemens Medical Solutions is restructuring its U.S. sales and service operations, DOTmed News has learned. An industry insider and trusted DOTmed News source has alerted us that Siemens is changing its regional leadership to combine sales and service under zone general managers. In the past, the company had separate zone vice presidents for each--sales and service.

The company has confirmed that some reorganization has taken place. "The reorganization of the sales and service group was intended to improve sales and service support to the customer. That's the bottom line," said LuJean Smith,
Senior Director, Public Relations. Smith noted that the changes pertain only to sales and servicing of customer accounts and not medical equipment service and repair.

Our source has indicated that the company has required zone executives to re-apply for their posts and that not all were in fact re-hired. However, Siemens would not comment on personnel matters.
