American College of
Radiology makes specific
comments aimed at
healthcare for seniors
The ACR recently submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding the 2008 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule.
The College urged CMS to revisit several aspects of the proposed rule including:

* Resource-based practice expense relative value units
* Practice expense per hour
* Relative Value Update Committee recommendations
* Additional codes from the five year review
* IDTF requirements
* Physician quality reporting initiative; and
* Changes to reassignment and self-referral rules [Anti-Markup Provisions]
CMS will address comments received on the proposed rule in the 2008 MFS Final Rule, which will be published in November.
