After four days held as in-person events in Düsseldorf, Germany, MEDICA and COMPAMED can report extremely positive results. The world's leading information and communication platforms for the medical technology industry and its supplier sector presented a wealth of innovations as well as a thematically diverse ancillary program (supplemented by digital offers) and lived up to their internationally important positions. “The atmosphere in the exhibition halls was consistently relaxed and characterized by optimism. Conversations with our customers have shown that in many cases we have exceeded expectations. People were finally able to establish new and intensify existing contacts in person, said Erhard Wienkamp, Managing Director Operative Trade Fair Business at Messe Düsseldorf.

A total of 46,000 visitors (with an international share of 73%) from 150 countries took the opportunity to engage in person with the 3,033 MEDICA and 490 COMPAMED exhibitors to learn about the comprehensive range of innovations for outpatient and inpatient care, including every step of their development and production. Attendees were also able to try out many products on show-site.

“These numbers are encouraging and were hardly expected to be at this level in the spring. With the combination of trade fair events and digital additions, MEDICA and COMPAMED have given the industry a strong impulse. The exhibitors are happy that they came to Düsseldorf and are already actively inquiring about options to take part next year,” stated Christian Grosser, Director Health & Medical Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf, reflecting the positive signals send by both participants and industry associations.
U.S. exhibitor participation at both trade fairs was again strong. Special features at MEDICA 2021 were again the two successful U.S. Pavilions, organized by Messe Düsseldorf North America, with 120 companies presenting their technologies within these group exhibits. Overall, 254 U.S. exhibitors participated in MEDICA 2021.

At COMPAMED 2021, 68 U.S. companies displayed their innovations, in addition to 10 exhibitors participating within the U.S. Pavilion also organized by Messe Düsseldorf North America.

The MEDICA and COMPAMED industry portals also offered an extensive program in line with the live events at the trade fairs. This allowed users to access the live streams of the stage programs of all the specialist forums integrated into the trade fairs, the 44th German Hospital Conference and the MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE as well as network via the special Matchmaking tool and obtain information about the exhibitors' product innovations in their online showrooms.
