In addition to the Velocity, Fujifilm also unveiled the FDR Cross, a mini C-arm solution for the ICU, the emergency room and special procedures. In addition to being a fluoro unit, the system’s tube can be tilted in a way that transforms it into a regular digital X-ray system, capable of performing exams from chest X-rays to abdominal scans. It is portable, which means it can be used at patient bedsides. The solution also comes with features such as Dynamic Visualization; is battery powered; and available with multiple detector sizes.

Approved by the FDA this month, it is set to become available for sale in the U.S. at the end of December. “It’s a portable X-ray machine and a fluoro unit, all in one,” said Rick Banner, senior director of marketing for modality solutions at Fujifilm.
