Indianapolis-based Interim Diagnostic Imaging (IDI), a Modular Devices company specializing in mobile imaging solutions, has launched a groundbreaking 10' wide mobile MR trailer.

The new design, which expands the standard trailer width by two feet, offers a 25% larger workspace compared to traditional 8' wide trailers, aiming to improve workflow, patient comfort, and operational efficiency.

The enhanced mobile unit is being showcased at the RSNA meeting in Chicago.

Larry Sodomire, in partnership with TDC Trailer, engineered and manufactured the trailer.

Key improvements in the design include:

  • A dedicated patient changing area accommodating MR-safe gurneys.
  • An expanded control room for more efficient staff workflows.
  • Two additional feet of clearance around the table and magnet for safer patient positioning.
The trailer is equipped with Siemens Aera 1.5T MR technology, featuring a 70 cm open bore for enhanced patient comfort and advanced coil configurations to handle diverse imaging needs. IDI emphasized the unit's ability to be operational within hours of deployment, bypassing the need for modular building permits, which streamlines logistics.

IDI is offering short- and long-term rental options for the new mobile MR trailer, enabling institutions to scale their imaging capacity without committing to permanent infrastructure investments.

"With over 40 years of experience as a mobile imaging solutions provider, we continue to innovate," said Mark Koers, CEO of Modular Devices. "With the new 10' wide MR, we've listened to our customers' requests for more space and created a first-of-its-kind solution."
