RadNet has acquired CIMAR UK, a provider of cloud-native image management solutions, in a move aimed at strengthening DeepHealth, its digital health subsidiary.

The transaction will integrate CIMAR into DeepHealth’s AI-focused informatics platform, expanding its reach across public and private healthcare systems in the UK.

CIMAR’s infrastructure supports image sharing and interoperability for more than half of NHS Trusts and 80% of the U.K.’s private hospital groups. The acquisition brings together CIMAR’s cloud architecture with DeepHealth’s AI-powered reporting and workflow tools to support faster diagnostics and more streamlined imaging services.

“Radiologists and care teams are under immense pressure, often working with outdated or siloed tools, and are not set up to keep pace with rising demand,” said Kees Wesdorp, CEO and president of DeepHealth. “By acquiring CIMAR, DeepHealth is taking a powerful step in redefining imaging-based care.”

The companies have already collaborated on NHS England’s Lung Cancer Screening Program, where CIMAR provides the digital backbone supporting DeepHealth’s AI at more than 90% of participating sites. According to U.K. government data, 76% of lung cancers detected through the program are now found at earlier stages, compared to 29% historically.

“This acquisition marks a pivotal moment for CIMAR,” said CIMAR cofounder and CEO Howard Jenkinson. “Through our integration with DeepHealth, we can scale our impact and expand access to services and solutions that provide a more seamless, connected, and intelligent imaging experience.”

The Los Angeles-based RadNet operates over 400 outpatient imaging centers across the U.S. DeepHealth, its digital health arm, has been consolidating imaging AI companies under its umbrella in recent years, building out tools that support screening and diagnostic workflows across cancer types, including breast, lung, prostate, and brain.

The companies say the acquisition will help scale AI-powered image-based screening programs across the U.K. and broader European markets.
