AdventHealth and Intermountain Health have signed a letter of intent to form a joint venture that would combine their Denver-area hospital operations, with the goal of expanding access to care and coordinating services across the region.
The proposed agreement, announced Monday, would bring together AdventHealth's five Denver-area hospitals — AdventHealth Avista, AdventHealth Castle Rock, AdventHealth Littleton, AdventHealth Parker and AdventHealth Porter — with Intermountain Health's Good Samaritan Hospital, Lutheran Hospital and Platte Valley Hospital. The joint venture also would include the systems' physician practices, clinics, urgent care centers and off-site emergency facilities in the market.
Under the proposed structure, the Altamonte Springs, Florida-based AdventHealth would oversee day-to-day operations. The organizations said they expect to sign a definitive agreement in the coming weeks, with the transaction targeted to close in early 2027, pending regulatory approval.

David Banks, president and CEO of AdventHealth, said the partnership would combine the organizations' resources to expand access to care, strengthen clinical services and improve care delivery across the Denver metropolitan area.
Rob Allen, president and CEO of the Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health, said the proposed affiliation is intended to create a more connected experience for patients and care teams while increasing access to care throughout the region.
If completed, the joint venture would unite eight hospitals under a single operating structure in one of Colorado's fastest-growing population centers. The systems said they are evaluating how the affiliation could strengthen services for patients, employees and surrounding communities.
AdventHealth operates more than 2,000 care sites nationwide, including hospitals, physician practices and outpatient facilities. Intermountain Health is a nonprofit system with 34 hospitals, roughly 400 clinics and the Select Health insurance plan, which serves more than 1 million members.
Financial terms of the proposed venture were not disclosed. Additional details about governance, ownership structure and regulatory filings were not immediately available.
