New plans
Saint Vincent's Hospital, NY, NY has submitted revised plans lowering the height of the new proposed hospital below 3,000 feet after feedback from the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC). The plans call for a reduction in width by 40 feet as well. At the same time, St. Vincent's is seeking approval to tear down the O'Toole Building to make way for the new hospital.

Development partners, the Rudin Family, revised plans to include preserving four hospital buildings for adaptive residential use, and reducing the height of the new residential building on 7th Avenue by 30 feet and the width by 60 feet or nearly a third, all of which will not take place until after the new hospital is built.

St. Vincent's earned the support of elected officials who testified in support of the hardship application to demolish the O'Toole Building.
