PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA - ECRI Institute, an independent nonprofit organization that researches the best approaches to improving patient care, has announced the release of a completely enhanced database for its medical-surgical supply and implant procurement service, PriceGuide™.
With implant and medical-surgical supply costs rising for every hospital at an unsustainable pace, healthcare facilities nationwide use PriceGuide to benchmark prices paid for single-use consumables against the prices paid by other institutions. The medical-surgical supply database helps hospitals identify areas of immediate savings to make well-informed healthcare supply decisions.
Top of the list of PriceGuide's major enhancements is on-demand Spend Analyses. Spend Analyses, a macro-level view of spend by supplier and product category helps member hospitals zero in on areas with the greatest potential for savings. Within the enhanced database, Spend Analyses now generates reports automatically and changes dynamically as users maneuver their data.

- Search capabilities by unique item number
"ECRI Institute continues to enhance PriceGuide to help hospitals identify areas of hard dollar savings with a minimum of effort," says Anthony Montagnolo, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, ECRI Institute. "Our real-world pricing data coupled with new, easy-to-use targeted savings reports will undoubtedly give our members the tools to reduce their supply spend, often without even changing suppliers."
