-Adult men and women in rural counties, with some regional variation, are more likely to smoke than their urban counterparts.
-Due to a lack of timely and efficient preventive care, more rural residents risk being diagnosed with cancer in later stages of the disease than urban residents.
-Motor vehicle deaths and occupational injury rates are higher in rural areas.
