(AAO) Annual Meeting, October 15th - 18th, Canon Medical Systems, a
division of Canon U.S.A., Inc., demonstrated how eye doctors can
leverage Canon ophthalmic solutions to better manage patient information
and images, while helping to improve eye exam efficiency.
In the Canon booth, a virtual office let attendees experience how a doctor can utilize a Canon Non-Mydriatic camera, such as the 8.2 megapixel CR-DGi Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera, and the Eye Q Prime Imaging application to quickly capture ultra high-resolution digital retinal images that can be reviewed, analyzed, printed and digitally communicated to virtually any facility, anywhere in the world.
Canon also was slated to participate in the AAO's Interoperability Showcase,
demonstrating how an electronic medical records (EMR) system based on industry standards, such as the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard, can successfully interoperate with a variety of ophthalmic modalities in Integrated Healthcare Environments.
"As the need for quality eye care continues to grow, integrating total
digital imaging and workflow management solutions, based on industry
standards, will become even more critical for doctors as they continue to provide comprehensive, high-end care to their patients and for the successful operation of their practices," said Tsuneo Imai, director and general manager, Canon Medical Systems. "The Eye Q Prime software offered by Canon, coupled with Canon Retinal Cameras, can play a significant role in improving the efficiency
of eye care exams and the management of patient data and images."
Canon offers and markets a full line of digital imaging solutions for the
ophthalmic world.
