InfiMed specializes in
digital medical imaging
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. - InfiMed, a leading global developer of medical imaging software, has released to market its fourth generation of digital radiography imaging technology, i4 DR. The i4 DR was designed to provide the highest level of image quality while reducing the amount of radiation that patients and medical staff receive during X-ray procedures.
"Our primary goal during the development process of i4 DR was to create a new platform that would address the needs of safety and quality that were identified through extensive research with technicians and doctors, medical facility administrators and Original Equipment Manufacturers." said Amy Ryan, president of InfiMed. With i4 DR we have developed a technology that will get the best shot, on the first shot, using dosage levels that are much lower than what is currently accepted by the FDA."
The technology behind i4 DR's superior image quality is the recently developed InfiVision™ Automatic Image Enhancement software. InfiVision's one-click image processing allows for the best possible image quality on the first shot. It utilizes advanced image processing algorithms and automatically applies optimal image shutters. Images can then be fine-tuned using automatic image processing settings optimized for bone, soft tissue and organs.

In addition, the i4 DR features a highly customizable clinical workflow with Graphical User Interface (GUI)-integrated generator controls that allow for optimized X-ray and image processing parameters. i4 DR also eliminates the generator console creating a cleaner, more efficient workspace.
i4 DR was designed with the OEM business model in mind in that it can interface with a variety of flat panel detectors, and is flexible, adaptable, upgradeable and configurable for use with next generation flat panel detectors for faster speed to market. This, in addition to InfiMed's global onsite service support, 24-hour customer service and 36-month standard digital system warranty, enables i4 DR to lower the total cost of ownership compared to similar systems.
InfiMed will show the i4 DR at the 2009 European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna, Austria March 6 - 10 in Expo A: Booth 116 and Expo D: Booth 424. For more information on i4 DR and InfiMed, visit www.infimed.com.
