Knoxville, Tenn. - PETNET Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. and a leader in radiopharmaceutical distribution, has announced the opening of a new SPECT radiopharmacy in Raleigh, N.C. Through an agreement with Covidien Medical Imaging, PETNET now offers a combined portfolio of high energy and low energy radioisotopes to the nuclear medicine community, further expanding its PET and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) coverage.

The new site is conveniently located alongside the company's positron emission tomography (PET) manufacturing and distribution center. The site is USP Chapter 797-compliant and is the only site in Central and Eastern North Carolina with a cyclotron and the ability to service both high and low energy isotopes.

PETNET Solutions operates the largest PET radiopharmacy network with 50 radiopharmacies and distribution centers at multiple locations throughout the world that produce and distribute PET radiopharmaceuticals to hospitals, clinics, and research facilities for PET imaging.
