Kodak Mammo CAD System
Chicago, November 28-Dec. 2 -- Eastman Kodak Company plans a significant exhibit at RSNA including a demo of its next generation radiology and enterprise solutions. Marketed as KODAK CARESTREAM Solutions, the company has integrated image and information systems to enhance communication of patient data across the continuum of care. The system includes KODAK CARESTREAM Radiology Solutions and KODAK CARESTREAM Information Management Solutions. The tandem is designed to improve care delivery, patient safety and efficiency while delivering cost savings for radiology departments, healthcare organizations and communities.

Kodak's radiology solutions include KODAK CARESTREAM PACS (picture archiving and communications system) and KODAK CARESTREAM RIS (radiology information system) for a comprehensive architecture that addresses the diverse operational needs of clinics, imaging centers, hospitals and healthcare networks, including orthopaedic, mammography and oncology facilities. CARESTREAM solutions can be easily integrated with third-party radiology, clinical, or hospital information systems, including third-party RIS/PACS systems, to create a highly productive desktop and workflow environment for customers that want to use components from other suppliers. The architecture can be scaled to meet the needs of small-to-large hospitals and medical practices as well as regional or national healthcare information systems, all within the same software framework.

Kodak will demonstrate new features for CARESTREAM Radiology Solutions for Mammography at RSNA. New mammography-specific features for Kodak's CARESTREAM RIS platform include: automatic generation of patient letters and pending requests for annual recalls, and a mammography information drawing tool with annotation capability.

Kodak will also demonstrate a portable long-length imaging accessory that provides digital images of erect and supine exams in conjunction with KODAK computed radiography (CR) systems. The KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Long-Length Portable Imaging System is designed for use in hospital x-ray rooms, surgical suites, orthopaedic clinics and can also be used for bedside portable exams.

When used with KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR 825, CR 850, CR 950 and CR 975 Systems, the CR Long-Length Portable Imaging System captures full spine or lower extremity exams with an image size of 14 x 33 inches. The grid is integrated into a convenient caddy with wheels for easy portability that supports use from one room to another.

Kodak will continue to market its innovative wall-mounted imaging system that captures full-leg and full-spine images up to 17 x 51 inches. The KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Long-Length Wall Mounted Imaging System features a vertical cassette holder that accepts up to four cassettes. Cassettes can be processed in any order because the system's software correctly identifies each cassette's position and then stitches the images together to create an image of up to 17 x 51 inches. Radiographic technologists can tailor the number of cassettes used to the specific anatomy being imaged. This wall-mounted system is also supported by KODAK CR 800 and CR 900 Series Systems.

Other advanced imaging systems will also be demonstrated including works in progress from Kodak's Health Group.
