CHICAGO, Nov. 22, 2005 Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. (TAMS) has announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administrations 510(k) clearance of its dedicated vascular system, the Infinix VC-i with Large Field of View (LFOV) Flat Panel Detector (FPD). The Infinix VC-i system with LFOV FPD is Toshiba's newest angiography platform, featuring state-of-the-art technology for vascular exams and interventional procedures.

The Infinix VC-i system with LFOV FPD will be exhibited for healthcare professionals in Toshibas booth at the Radiological Society of North Americas (RSNA) annual meeting held Nov. 27-Dec. 2 at McCormick Place in Chicago (TAMS is at Booth #7114, North Building, Hall B).

The addition of the LFOV FPD to our VC-i platform raises the bar for next generation diagnostic and interventional imaging, said Don Volz, director, Vascular X-ray Business Unit, TAMS. The new FPD provides superior imaging capabilities for patients of all sizes. This is yet another demonstration of Toshibas commitment to designing systems for exceptional clinical performance without compromising patient comfort and care.
