Waukesha, Wis. - GE Healthcare has announced an important leadership change for the world's leading diagnostic healthcare company. Mark Vachon has been promoted to the position of President and CEO of the company's Diagnostic Imaging business, based in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Vachon replaces Reinaldo Garcia, who has been named President and CEO of GE Healthcare - International. Based in Buc, France, Garcia will drive expansion plans in Europe, Middle East and Asia Growth Markets.
"Mark brings a unique blend of proven business skills and a combination of commercial and financial management experience to his new role," said Joe Hogan, president and CEO of GE Healthcare. "Mark will continue to accelerate the growth of our DI business, while building on the foundation of quality products and customer focus."

Just last week, Vachon was presented with GE's annual Chairman Leadership Award from Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt at the company's Global Leadership Meeting in Boca Raton, Florida. The award recognized Vachon as a key company leader who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, courage and performance in the past year. Vachon will donate the $25,000 award to the Milwaukee-based Vince Lombardi Charitable Fund to help fight cancer.
Vachon is a career veteran of GE and a GE Officer with a variety of commercial, marketing and financial experience. Vachon spent a number of years within the company's Appliances business, as General Manager - Retail Sales and Market Development and General Manager - Consumer Satisfaction. In April of 1998 Vachon was promoted to Vice President of Investor Relations with GE Corporate, working for the then GE Chairman and CEO Jack Welch. In January 2002 he was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NBC. In July 2003, he was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at GE Healthcare. Vachon resides in the Waukesha, Wisconsin area with his wife Karen and their two children.
