Toshiba installs 1,100th Vantage MRI

Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. said Tuesday it has installed its 1,100th Vantage MRI unit since the system's 2004 launch. In this case, it was its wide-bore model, the Vantage Titan 1.5-T, at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pa. The scanner will be used for bariatric imaging, the Tustin, Calif.-based company said.

Toshiba's 3-T wide-bore system, the Vantage Titan 3-T, received Food and Drug Administration clearance in August.
