Malvern, Pa. - Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Fla., recently became the first healthcare facility to install Siemens' Luminos Agile fluoroscopy and radiography system. The Luminos Agile is the first patient-side controlled system with dynamic flat-panel detector technology, height-adjustable table and true dual-use capability for fluoroscopy and radiography.

Dynamic Flat-Panel Detector

The Luminos Agile's 17'' x 17'' dynamic flat-panel detector provides an image that is up to 117% larger and allows for better patient coverage than a 13-inch image intensifier, enabling users to view objects without repositioning or changing the field of view, reducing overall fluoroscopy time and dose.

Height-Adjustable Table
The Agile's table height is the lowest in the industry for a patient-side system, easily adjusting from 25 to 44 inches. With its horizontal and vertical transfer positions, the system accommodates a wide range of patients, including children and those with mobility challenges. The Agile's 600 lb. table weight capacity and 24" wide opening - the largest for a patient-side system - provide easy access for bariatric and immobile patients, and the space-saving open design enables easy access from all sides of the table. These features help to dramatically improve the patient experience.

The fully motorized tower, and synchronized table and wall Bucky tracking allow for improved radiography workflow and increased patient throughput. The improved OPTI Grip handle provides ergonomic tableside operation for left- and right-handed users, and the FLUOROSPOT Compact digital imaging system for both fluoroscopy and radiography helps improve workflow efficiency. Advanced post-processing further enhances image quality to support more accurate diagnosis.

True Dual-Use Capability
Fully synchronized fluoroscopy and radiography capability is available on the Agile by incorporating the Siemens Ysio digital radiography option. With its wireless detector wi-D, ceiling-suspended tube with MaxTouch user interface and Bucky wall stand, the fluoroscopy room can now also be a true digital radiography room - expanding imaging possibilities, helping to increase utilization rates, and assisting healthcare facilities in becoming the providers of choice among patients and referring physicians.
