Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. said Thursday it was promoting general manager and senior vice president Donald Fowler to serve as its new president.
Fowler is taking the reins of the Tustin, Calif.-based subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate less than a year after coming on board.
Fowler, who joined Toshiba last April, has spent more than two decades in the industry, with his most recent pre-Toshiba appointment VP of MR business with Siemens Healthcare. According to his LinkedIn page, Fowler has held a variety of senior executive positions with Siemens since at least 2002.

In a statement, Toshiba said Fowler would still be tasked with driving the growth of the company's U.S. multi-modality business, his earlier position's primary responsibility.
Outgoing president Toshiya Miyaguchi will head back to parent company Toshiba Medical Systems Corp., to act as vice president, service, with responsibility for the company's global service programs, a Toshiba spokeswoman told DOTmed News by e-mail.
