"The ESTRO forum enables Varian to showcase advances in treatment speed and precision."
The latest version of the ARIA® oncology information management suite will also be exhibited. This comprehensive paperless system was designed to streamline clinical, financial, and administrative processes in cancer care, with the aim of making radiation and medical oncology departments more efficient and cost-effective. It can be configured to guide clinical personnel through their daily tasks by automatically activating the next step in a process as each step is completed.
Varian will demonstrate new features in its Eclipse™ treatment planning software that make planning more straightforward and intuitive, including SmartSegmentation® Knowledge-Based Contouring that expedites the process of outlining tumors as well as surrounding healthy organs for planning treatments.
Siemens Partnership
Visitors to the Varian booth can learn about the company's EnVision Better Cancer Care™ global strategic partnership with Siemens Healthcare. Varian and Siemens represent each other's products for radiation oncology customers globally and the two companies are investigating opportunities for joint development of new products for image-guided radiotherapy and radiosurgery. Varian is also spotlighting its new respiratory gating system for Siemens CT scanners. In addition, in March, Siemens received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for ARIA connectivity to Siemens ONCOR and PRIMUS linear accelerators, giving Siemens customers a wider choice as aging accelerators are due for replacement. Visitors will be able to learn more about this connectivity between Varian's ARIA software and Siemens medical linear accelerators directly at the Varian and Siemens booths.
