Advanced imaging technology helps Radiology Associates of Albuquerque impact patient care
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Radiology Associates of Albuquerque (RAA) recently became the first outpatient imaging center in the area to install GE Healthcare's Optima* CT660, an advanced, scalable Computed Tomography (CT) system offering lower radiation dose capabilities and enhanced ease-of-use in a range of cardiovascular, oncology, neurology, angiography and other procedures. This imaging system will enable physicians to acquire high quality images to help better diagnose patients.
Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico's most populous city, RAA operates as a hospital-based radiology group providing services to Presbyterian facilities in a 100-mile radius, as well as three outpatient-imaging facilities.

RAA's mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive, high quality imaging for its patients and its referring community using the most innovative and advanced techniques available. RAA provides a vast array of services including mammography, MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray, osteoporosis screening, virtual colonoscopy and fluoroscopy.

The Optima CT660 leverages GE's innovative ASiR*+ (Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction) technology to help physicians maintain diagnostic image quality while dramatically reducing patient radiation dose.
Additionally, the CT660's purposeful design and workflow enhancements offer advanced imaging for facilities constrained by space or resources. It is also among the world's most energy efficient Volume CT systems, using about 60 percent less energy than previous-generation scanners.
In the first few days installed, the Optima CT660 has expanded RAA's capabilities by offering lower doses of radiation and shorter scan times, which is beneficial to all but it is particularly beneficial to pediatric patients and those who receive multiple scans. The Optima CT660 has also increased the scope of exams that can now be performed at RAA. Since its installation it has scanned more than 80 patients, and has also increased quality of care.
