As part of the partnership, Welch Allyn leverages the Iatric Systems Accelero Connect® solution to automate how vital signs are captured and recorded in patients' electronic charts, saving nurses time and improving documentation. Without integration, many nurses record these results by hand and then manually enter the information into the EHR. This redundant workflow increases nurses' workloads and the chance for documentation errors, and delays physicians' online access to essential patient data.

Accelero Connect provides a seamless connection between Welch Allyn devices and a hospital's EHR so clinicians can collect vital signs data, validate it, and through Accelero Connect, send the confirmed results to any EHR system, regardless of vendor. The solution also supports point-of-care barcode scanning at the Welch Allyn device to confirm positive patient identification in the EHR system. With Accelero Connect, hospitals can expand EHR integration to other device types, such as smart pumps, ventilators, anesthesia machines, and others.
