An RSNA member since 1989, Pisano has served as a refresher course faculty member and plenary session moderator for numerous RSNA annual meetings. She has also served RSNA as a member of the Research Study Section for the Research & Education Foundation Grant Program, and the Quantitative Imaging and Imaging Biomarkers Task Force. Dr. Pisano currently serves on the RSNA Public Information Advisors Network.

In addition to leading the DMIST study, Pisano has served as principal investigator for more than 30 other studies. She has authored or co-authored 145 articles appearing in peer-reviewed journals, and has been a reviewer for more than a dozen journals, including Radiology and RadioGraphics.

Roger A. Bauman, MD Award
The Roger A. Bauman, MD Award is presented for the best student paper each year at the annual meeting. This award was named to honor Dr. Bauman’s distinguished career in radiological informatics research and practice and his status as Founding Editor of the Journal of Digital Imaging. This year’s award went to Paras Khandheria, MD, of Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Khandheria’s winning paper was “Integrating “Integrating Tablet-Based Videoconferencing with an Image Viewer and a Shared PACS Session to Provide a Platform for Remote Consultation for Radiology Studies”

Annually, the Editor-in-Chief and the Associate Editors of the Journal of Digital Imaging, the peer-reviewed, scientific journal of the SIIM, select and recognize the best papers and the most valuable reviewer for the previous year.
