Spring 2007 Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) Exam Date Announced

Administrators sets test date
The CRA examination will be administered in computer-based format on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at approximately 125 CompUSA Testing Centers located in 34 states. Applications for this exam are due January 29, 2007.

Eligibility is based on a point system, with 7 points needed to sit for the exam. Points are earned through education, experience and/or credentials. Experience is defined as management, supervisory, or administrative experience in radiology or medical imaging with responsibility for three of the five management areas (domains): Human Resource Management, Asset Resource Management, Communications & Information Management, Fiscal Management and Operations Management. Applicants must have at least 1 point earned through education or have a minimum of 10 years experience without an education point. Experience is related to human radiology only.

The test will consist of 185 questions and tests a candidates knowledge in the five management areas noted above. Approximately 30% of the questions will be based on knowledge, 40% will test application skills (i.e. problem solving), and 30% will be analysis.

The exam is scored on a pass/fail basis. All candidates taking the exam will receive a diagnostic report that shows how they fared in each management area. To maintain the credential, CRAs must submit 36 continuing education credits and pay a $150 renewal every 3 years.
