MALVERN, Pa. Visualize an image of a vascular structure in the human brain so detailed, so life-like that you try to reach out and touch it but cant. With the new three-dimensional (3D) Stereoscopic Display system from Siemens Medical Solutions (www.usa.siemens.com/medical) Angiography, Fluoroscopy and X-ray (AX) Division, physicians can more clearly view and better understand vascular structures in the human body. Physicians specializing in angiography will be able to utilize this system by viewing a 3D stereoscopic display to improve decision-making for faster and more confident treatments.
Mimicking the perception of the human eye, the display creates two or more views of an object to produce a stereoscopic impression delivering depth information. This enables physicians to understand complex vessel structures which can be more easily differentiated via this display. The 3D display enables physicians to provide more efficient treatment for diseases like vascular aneurysms, stenotic narrowing of vessels and vascular malformations.
The 3D display provides a life-like impression without the need to wear special glasses or to be limited to one observer, making the display useable in sterile environments or meeting rooms.
