Siemens FUSION7D Software
now ntegrated into
KODAK CARESTREAM
PACS platform
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastman Kodak Company has integrated Siemens Medical Solutions FUSION7D Software that enhances visualization of cancerous tumors and lesions into the latest version of its KODAK CARESTREAM PACS platform. This optional feature is available immediately in the United States, Canada and Europe.
Image fusion software creates a composite image by overlaying image data from PET, CT, SPECT and MR systems so that oncologists have better visualization of anatomic and metabolic information and can more confidently assess tumor volumes and disease progression. Siemens FUSION7D software provides advanced visualization tools and registration capabilities that govern how the images are overlaid.
This software can be activated from a KODAK PACS (picture archiving and communications system) workstation by clicking a single button, making it easy for clinicians to use. Four software tiers allow facilities to purchase appropriate functionality for their applications. Each tier can be upgraded at any time.

The newest version of CARESTREAM PACS offers floating licenses that allow access to a specified number of concurrent users from any location inside or outside the institution. This new licensing structure provides improved flexibility, since users no longer need to use a specific workstation to access tools required to perform desired tasks. It can also be more cost-effective for healthcare institutions.
This licensing structure also applies to integrated third-party software offered with the KODAK PACS platform, including image fusion, virtual colonoscopy and orthopaedic templating.
The KODAK CARESTREAM PACS features a highly productive desktop that incorporates built-in cardiac CT functions and native real-time 3D capabilities, as well as integrated software from third parties. The KODAK CARESTREAM architecture can be scaled to meet the needs of small-to-large hospitals and medical practices as well as regional or national healthcare information systems, all within the same software framework.
