MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--When the cause of a companion animal’s internal injury or health condition is not clear, the non-invasive, high-quality imaging of a Virtual Imaging RadPRO digital radiography system equipped with a Canon detector can help veterinarians quickly and correctly diagnose the animal, helping to provide answers quickly, a major factor in the success of a veterinary practice. Virtual Imaging, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, will demonstrate its first veterinary radiographic system, the RadPRO OMNERA 50 Veterinary Digital Radiographic System, at booth #1112 at the Western Veterinary Conference (WVC), taking place March 6-10 at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.
Equipped with a Canon CXDI-501G flat panel detector, the RadPRO OMNERA 50 System helps to deliver high-resolution imaging with low X-ray dose to the patient. The detector is the heart of the system and is used in veterinary universities and more than 3,000 veterinary practices.
“Unlike the treatment of humans, veterinarians depend largely upon clinical identifications, as animals cannot verbalize their symptoms. Thankfully, digital radiographic systems provide the tools for veterinarians to make quicker and more accurate diagnoses than CR systems,” said Tsuneo Imai, president, Virtual Imaging, Inc., and vice president and general manager, Healthcare Solutions Division, Business Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. “Virtual Imaging is proud to offer a veterinary radiographic system, equipped with a Canon detector, and designed to provide the same outstanding level of healthcare given to humans, demonstrating our commitment to high-quality imaging with low exposure to the patient.”

Speedy Diagnosis
Equipped with Canon DR technology, high-quality X-ray images are delivered sooner than with conventional film or CR systems, allowing images to be previewed within approximately three seconds after exposure, helping to reduce exam time and patient repositioning. If another exposure is required, the rapid refresh cycle allows the next image to be captured quickly, reducing the chance of patient movement.
Low X-Ray Dose
The CXDI-501G flat panel detector integrates the Canon Large Area New Metal-Insular Semiconductor and TFT (LANMIT) X-ray image sensor, a digital radiography device enabling high-resolution medical image data to be acquired with a low-radiation dose.
Time-Saving Software
In emergency diagnosis situations, every second counts, and solutions that streamline workflow tasks and help save time are critical to treatment. The RadPRO OMNERA 50 System is packaged with easy-to-use Canon CXDI Control Software NE (that comes with the CXDI-501G detector) and an anatomically programmed, high-frequency generator to help veterinarians obtain images quickly and efficiently the first time.
