Last year also saw the health care giant make another significant move in the region – and into digital – when it created new jobs in the Chicago area, making it the “core hub” of its growing IT ecosystem.

Many of the newly created jobs will be part of GE Healthcare's IT business, headquartered in Barrington, Illinois.
At that time, Flannery told onlookers at the New York Stock Exchange that digital is
a whole new space for them. “It’s not going to be a huge financial lever in the next two to three years, but we are investing heavily in this. This is going to drive productivity and outcomes in the industry.”
