Patients may be injected with radiographic contrast media before diagnostic imaging procedures. This donation will benefit patients at hospitals in developing countries by providing enhanced images of body organs and anatomy during diagnostic scans. With these enhanced images, physicians can more accurately detect, diagnose, and therefore treat diseases and functional abnormalities.
"We are delighted to accept this donation from GE Healthcare. It will enable better patient care through improved diagnosis and treatment for people who do not usually have access to premium diagnostic pharmaceuticals," says Dr. Douglas Jackson, President/CEO of PROJECT C.U.R.E. "This helps us reach our goal of delivering medical resources to the world's most needy populations."
"GE Healthcare is dedicated to excellence in patient care in all areas of the world by matching our technical capabilities with basic human needs," says Jennifer Pardue, Associate Brand Manager of GE Healthcare Biosciences, Medical Diagnostics, Omnipaque(TM) (iohexol) Injection. "We're proud to collaborate with PROJECT C.U.R.E in providing our products to doctors and patients in these communities where the best medical care is not available."
